Health Visiting Service

The Health Visiting Service supports and educates families from pregnancy until your child starts school.

The service is provided by a team led by health visitors who are qualified nurses with specialist training in public health for children. The service delivers the Healthy Child Programme 0 to 5.

The Health Visiting team can help with any concerns; we can offer advice and packages of support on a wide range of health issues. We can also signpost you to other services that may be able to help.

The Health Visiting Service has been accredited by UNICEF as Baby Friendly since 2017.

Infant Feeding Support Service: work with health visitors, midwives and partner agencies to ensure women and their families, antenatally and postnatally, are supported to achieve their infant feeding goals, offering assessment for complex infant feeding issues including a nurse led tongue tie clinic.

Walsall Healthy Child App

Want to feel confident making decisions around your child’s health?

The app that supports parents and carers with caring for their child at home; giving advice on when and where to seek further treatment.

Easy to understand guidance around conditions such as cough and colds, constipation, thrush, teething, allergies, oral health and more.

Coni - Care of Next Infant - Support for families

Remember support is always available to families who are having a baby and have previously suffered a sudden infant death.

  • Daily symptom diaries
  • Room thermometer
  • Use of an age appropriate Apnoea monitor
